A munchkin cat is a unique domestic type of cat because of its short limbs. The short legs are due to some genetic mutation, and therefore, there are debates regarding this cat’s origin, because the mutation may have happened at any moment in the past.
Besides their short limbs, Munchkin cats have a regular physique. The other parts of their body are not miniature and they’re compact and sturdy animals. They’re medium sized with an ordinary musculoskeletal development. There are no restrictions on color and the pattern of their coat or even eyes. Their hind limbs are longer than their forelimbs and their medium-length tail narrows towards the tip. Even though their short limbs do not allow them to jump high they’re said to be great at moving around and turning swiftly.
The munchkin cat is very sweet in nature. They’re gentle and affectionate and frequently act like kittens even when they get older. Since this type of cats cannot defend themselves well in encounters with the stray cats or even dogs, they need to be kept indoors. They’re social and smart cats and they enjoy being around humans all the time.
